Strive to be 1% better than you you were yesterday

“It’s not about being the best. It’s about being better than you were yesterday”.

Just getting 1% better in one exercise is an improvement on the previous workout. Set your own goals based on what you want to get out of training and not on what anyone thinks your goals should be.

10,000 steps, for example, is the baseline goal that everyone has. But if you are someone who commutes, sits at an office all day and commutes home, you might be averaging only 5,000 steps a day. Trying to up that to 6,000 is your improvement.

Likewise, if you move around a lot in work, your baseline may already be 10,000 steps. Because your baseline is already at that perceived goal, you have to find a way to get more steps in.

The point is to strive to get that 1% better than your baseline right now. And that baseline is different for all of us.

We’re halfway through the working week. We’re tired but the end of the week is in sight. Get that workout in today. Aim to get a little better in at least one of your exercises. An extra rep or two. A little heavier in weights used. A little further or faster in your run. Push a little more out of your comfort zone and the results will come
