Sugar Tax: Will it work to slow down obesity rate in Ireland. What you need to know.

Looking at the sugar tax introduced in Ireland last week. What exactly is the Sugar Tax? What products does it affect? Will it have a positive effect on our rising obesity rates? Have I continually messed up affect/effect in this short blog post? (Yes, I probably have) Can we look elsewhere for a track record of the Sugar Tax working and will it work here?

Going Vegan

Going Vegan

So one inadvertent tangent on Monday’s video about seeing people going Vegan lead me into looking at it in greater detail. Why would you consider becoming a Vegan? What are the health benefits in going Vegan? What are the affects of staying a meat eater on your body as well as the environment? Are micro pigs good pets? And, in the worst case of Netflix and Chill ever, I sat accompanied by a notebook and pen to watch Netflix’s ‘What The Health’ to help give me more perspective.

Check out the video below and let me know your thoughts, particularly if you have experiences with becoming a vegan and how it as worked for you!

And because I hate click bait: I’m not going vegan, that’s not to say I should or shouldn’t. Ok, that’s kinda click bait.

Counting Calories, IIFYM and the one thing people don't talk about on eating

Counting Calories, IIFYM and the one thing people don't talk about on eating

There seems to be a large focus online recently on calorie counting, IIFYM and the idea that you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight. Is this true and why I think you still should not do it even if it might be!

Also, my absolute hatred for memes like '524 burpees to burn off large fries'. Not only are you making my beloved burpees not seem like a great fat burning exercise but there is so much wrong with that statement that I could have wrote multiple blogs on it!
